Fremont, California — pop. still counting

The
Laytcomers

An artsy mixture of noise rock and post-punk with elements of indie-pop. Weird New Zealand–style pop — angular, erratic, sarcastic — destroying the habitats and neighbors' ears of Fremont since 2011.

About

A collective of East Bay unemployable men producing an artsy mixture of noise rock and post-punk with elements of indie-pop. It started when a Russian friend's mix CD of Tall Dwarfs, The Terminals, and The Clean rewired everything — the New Zealand style of melodic harmonies, noise, and lo-fi recording was very refreshing to our ears, so we ran with it, from deepest California suburbia.

"Shkipin and vocalist and guitarist Cye Husain have been holding down Fremont's 'weird New Zealand pop' mantle. There seems to be few challengers." — Noisey / VICE

Years of home-recorded releases — a 4-track, a laptop, a claustrophobic Bay Area garage — hopping between experimental pop, post-punk, psychedelia and noise rock. Angular, erratic and sarcastic: loser rock, and proud of it.
